To John,
I was a bad influence on you. I always was. You would have taken the blame if we were ever caught; so I did it for you.
I can't even try to think about how much pain you went through these past years without me. But you're much better off. I would have been the death of you; and I wouldn't have been able to hold that weight.
I've been keeping an eye on you every now and then, see how you're holding up.
Thank you for letting me go. I know you'll have a wonderful life without the worry of me. I was never worthy. I will never be worthy.
I will not explain how I did it, in fear you will be targeted, but I will say that you were the best companion anyone could have. The best friend.
I will say that, from the depths of me, you will not be forgotten. I will terribly miss our cases, and I will miss you.
You were the only person who could ever put up with me and my antics, even at my worst. We had an amazing partnership.
There was no need to tell people that the newspapers were wrong. People believe in what they see, so thank you for seeing me; for believing in me, and for keeping hope when I couldn't.
This is the only time you'll ever hear from me, and the only time I could tell you.
Without a doubt in my mind,
I believe in you.
Forever and always,
SH

John After Sherlock
When John Watson first met Mary Morstan there weren't bright sparks or life changing glances. There was a slight crash, a box of flying pasta, a mumbled apology and nothing more. It was when they bumped into each other a second time in the same shopping center that John started to get suspicious. He helped her collect her items for a second time, suggested that she replace the can of beans after its second swan dive across the aisle and offered his number.
She bit her lip and accepted. It wasn't perfect, but it worked.
They went out for coffee a week later. Wandering lazily around London's streets with paper cups in hand. Shy smiles were ex

Sherlock- Social
Sherlock Holmes was not a social person.
Watson had realized this rather quickly after meeting the Consulting Detective, and that fact had been only proven with time. As far as social norms or etiquette went, the man was clueless, and many times didn't seem to care. Only on rare occasions when he insulted someone he actually got along with (as much as a sociopath can get along with anyone), did he ask a shy 'not good?' after a mishap.
This came to John's mind as the two sat in relative silence on either side of a café table.
They were awaiting a client, somewhat. Sherlock had insisted on arriving nearly an hour and a half early to

Paris is indeed splendid. Doctor John Watson thought to himself as he was strolling on a boulevard right next to the Seine. Weather was certainly more pleasant here than in England all sunny, with occasional white cloud puffs blowing across the blue sky.
John was really glad that he had accepted an invitation to a medical conference, which took place in the capital of France two days ago, and decided to stay in the city for a whole week. A well-deserved vacation, he repeated inwardly with satisfaction. And the hotel was just marvellous.
He glanced mildly intrigued at bookstalls lined up on both sides of the path, but he brought himse

When I started writing this, I didn't intend on the ending. But I made myself sad because of it.
This can stand alone, but here is John's letter: [link]
